Specialized SMEs are the main entities with the highest innovative potential in the industry, deep market segmentation, outstanding scientific and technological innovation strength, mastery of key core technologies. They are the main force in strengthening the resilience of the industrial chain and the supply chain.

 

According to Xia Liang, deputy county mayor of Guiyang County, the four specialized and sophisticated SMEs in Guiyang County that have been shortlisted for recognition in this round are mainly concentrated in non-ferrous metals, new materials, general aviation, and other fields. They have good development prospects and high technological content in their respective subdivisions, and have become important engines for economic growth, continuously injecting impetus into the high-quality development of Guiyang.

 

Guiyang County adheres to taking technological innovation as the driving force for development, makes good use of relevant supporting policies, creates a good environment for innovation, encourages and guides enterprises to develop through innovation and to create benefits from technology, and leads and supports the economic and social development of the county.

 

 

In 2022, there were 135 enterprises engaged in R&D activities in the county, with R&D expenditure reaching 1.4458 billion yuan and R&D personnel reaching 2,588 people. The county’s investment in R&D expenditure accounted for more than 2.2% of GDP, and 23 enterprises have completed the filing and review of R&D reserves, service enterprises for provincial R&D awards and subsidies of more than 3.8 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 13.56%.

Together with the specialized SMEs identified this time, there are now 7 such SMEs in Guiyang County. They have achieved a steady increase in operating revenue and total profit. The market share of products has been constantly improved, and the development momentum and confidence of the enterprises have been strengthened.

 

In recent years, Guiyang County has seized the advantages of resources and location, accelerated the growth of development momentum, and made every effort to create the “seven 100-billion-yuan pillar industries”, including non-ferrous metals, intelligent home manufacturing, and general aviation.
