He then added the third weight to 175 kilograms and successfully lifted it to take the gold medal in the snatch.

In the clean and jerk competition, Liu successfully started with a weight of 210 kilograms and added the second weight directly to 223 kilograms in an attempt to break the world record of 222 kilograms in the men’s 89kg clean and jerk set by his teammate Tian Tao at this Asian Championships. Unfortunately, he failed. In the end, Liu won two gold medals in the total and snatch and a silver medal in the clean and jerk, with a total score of 385 kilograms.
