On May 15, 65,000 Loghman gray laying hens were pecking on their feed in the chicken coop of Qingfu Farm in Qingjiang Village, Suxian District, Chenzhou City.
Meanwhile, workers were busy sorting and packing the fresh eggs in the workshop.
“Our egg farm uses automated environmental control technology and standardized farming concepts, with scientifically standardized measures taken for epidemic prevention and harmless treatment of chicken manure. At present, the farm produces more than 60,000 eggs per day, which are distributed to various parts of the country via the Chenzhou Agricultural Wholesale Market, with an annual output value of more than 13 million yuan,” said Liu Xin’guo, a farm owner.
To reduce the cost of chicken breeding and improve the quality of egg products, the farm plans to invest over 4 million yuan in a feed processing plant and an organic fertilizer production line. This will save over 2 million yuan on feed costs annually, and the fertilizer production line will bring over 1 million yuan of income increase a year.
In addition, the farm has established over 30 direct egg sales stores in Chenzhou, Hengyang and other places, providing job opportunities for more than 130 people.
