Linwu black peaches popular on the market

Waxberries, red-fleshed peaches, yellow peaches and other fruits produced in Linwu County are coming on the market this summer. And black peaches are even more popular, as they will be sold out soon when being put on the market. 

 

Hunan Shunken Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. in Linwu County, has introduced black peaches according to the local conditions, and strictly managed all the links like seed selection and management to ensure their quality.

Black peaches, or dark peaches, originate from the mountainous areas of southern Anhui Province and are the most valuable special peaches for development discovered in China in the early years. Generally, a black peach weighs 120 to 160 grams. When it ripens, its skin is deep purple-red and its flesh is royal purple.
 
In 2005, the black peaches were introduced from Jiangxi Province and the ripening period was advanced to May after continuous cultivation and improvement. Now, black peaches are more storable for its hardness and taste sweeter.

Lei Jianfu, a project manager of the company said, “what’s the most important is that black peaches are suitable for growing in the south. They are on sales in middle May and off the market in late May and early June.”
 
At present, the base covers a planting area of 480 mu (32 hectares), where there are 200 mu (13.33 hectares) of high-yield fruit trees. The average yield per mu reaches 4,000 kilograms. The black peaches are sold online and offline to the Pearl River Delta area as well as the surrounding areas with the total annual sales revenue of 1.6 million yuan and an annual profit of 800,000 yuan.

In recent years, the company has devoted itself to the improvement and trial planting of fruits of good varieties and introduced them to planters in the county, so as to enrich the varieties and make the fruits more competitive in the market. In addition to black peaches, the base has also planted experimentally yellow peaches, Chinese royal pears, pomelos and other fruits, aiming to make itself an innovation leader in fruit planting in Linwu County.
 
Lei said that the company is aimed at building a quality fruit-planting base to produce more premium as well as featured fruit, in the hope of entering the fruit market of the whole country and even the world.
