The programme focuses on the inheritance and development of cooking techniques of Qifengdu Fish Rice Noodles, showcasing the efforts of Wu Anying, the provincial ICH inheritor of Qifengdu Fish Rice Noodles, and Hu Jianhua, chairman of Hunan Fengchu Food Company to cultivate a 1-billion-yuan industry of Qifengdu Fish Rice Noodles.

Hu Jianhua said that Qifengdu Fish Rice Noodles would be known by more people through the programme and he would work harder to develop and expand Qifengdu Fish Rice Noodles industry.

The perfect combination of Jiahe Casting technique and Jiahe Wedding Songs, two ICH projects, has created more modern creative products, which has also increased the revenue of casting industry by 45%. Xiao Xinfeng, director of the modeling workshop of Chenzhou Xiongjian Machine Tool Casting Co., Ltd., felt so proud of the two ICH projects introduced in the programme. He said that the Jiahe Casting Technique should be inherited from generation to generation. “A foundry worker who perfects his work through relentless efforts can better inherit the casting craft.”

Chenzhou people have been seeking to better inherit ICH projects through innovation.

The fish rice noodles industry can drive the rapid development of a village’s collective economy, and an ancient cast iron industry can make cultural tourism boom. Through this programme, people gained an understanding of the ICH projects in Chenzhou and the important role that ICH plays in rural revitalization. In the future, ICH projects will be popularized among more residents in communities of Chenzhou.

Ou Xiaohua, secretary of the Party branch of Dongfeng Primary School, said that nowadays, many children lack the knowledge of these ICH projects and traditional culture. Educators should introduce the ICH projects and traditional culture to students, so that excellent traditional culture can be carried forward.

Lei Xiaotun, a leader in the protection of ICH in Beihu District, said that what was broadcast in the programme was just a microcosm of many representative ICH projects in Chenzhou. Now there are more outstanding ICH items in Chenzhou, such as Kunqu Opera, Nuo Opera, etc., which have been well inherited and developed. This programme not only makes people feel the infinite charm of ICH projects, but also further enhances the confidence of ICH protection workers.
