Chenzhou, as the host city of the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference, has been committed to making it a world tourist destination.

 

During the May Day holiday, Chenzhou witnessed a booming tourism market at Dongjiang Lake Scenic (Huanhu), Dongjiang Bay Tourist Resort, and Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area, which ranked among the top 10 in terms of the tourist reception volume in Hunan Province.

 

 

It takes about one and a half hours to drive from Dongjiang Township to the summit of Huilong Mountain, with a total distance of over 40 kilometers, where one can see the sunlight pouring through the gaps in the clouds in the morning. Jinxianzhai Scenic Area in Beihu District boasts the spectacular sea of clouds at around 7 o’clock in the morning, when the sun slowly rises from the sea of clouds and paints the entire mountaintop golden with the sunlight. Located in the northwest of Guiyang County, Fucang Mountain is adorned by blooming rhododendrons enveloped in clouds and mist, which stretch for several kilometers.

 

The mist-enveloped Dongjiang Lake seems to melt into the vast sky, with green mountains reflected in the water. At Yangtian Lake Scenic Area in Beihu District with lush grassland and quiet lake, one can enjoy a leisurely time in the refreshing breeze. Along the banks of the Xihe River, bathed in sunlight, there are ancient ferries and ancient theaters, as well as tall reeds and winding bridges. Chongling River, as the “Mother River” in Guiyang, boasts the spectacular scenery that the water and the sky merge in one color. If lucky, one can see the stunning sunset shining in the clear river.

 

 

The night tourism economy has become a new highlight of the booming tourism in Chenzhou. During the May Day holiday this year, the Dongjiang Bay Tourist Resort received a total of 254,800 domestic and foreign tourists, a year-on-year increase of 243%. People can enjoy a wealth of night activities here.

 

Under the colorful neon lights, Yuhou Street looks like a rainbow spanning the banks of the Chenjiang River. Visitors gather here to admire the ancient residences of southern Hunan while savoring local snacks and specialty food. Beihu Lake and the Moon is one of the “eight ancient views” in Chenzhou, where a Chinese poet Han Yu once went boating and fishing. People can enjoy the city’s charm in the dazzling light and shadow while cruising the lake.

 

 

Chenzhou is rich in mineral crystal resources, mainly boasting non-ferrous metals of tungsten, tin, bismuth, lead, zinc, copper, etc. and non-metallic mineral crystals of calcite, fluorite, crystal, dolomite, etc. which makes it influential in the world. The Chenzhou mineral gemstones represented by Tongtian Jade, Qicai Stone, Huanglong Jade, Ink Stone, and the national treasure Hsianghualite have amazed exhibitors and visitors at home and abroad.

 

On May 23, the 11th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gemstone Expo came to an end in Chenzhou. It is one of the top three professional mineral and gemstone exhibitions in the world and the largest in Asia.

 

 

In recent years, Chenzhou has built science popularization and trading bases such as the World Nonferrous Metals Museum of the High-tech Industrial Park, the Shizhuyuan National Mining Park Museum, the Mineral Gem Museum, the Shibo Garden, and the Mining Expo Trading Center. Linwu Gem and Jade Cultural Industrial Park, the first jewelry and jade characteristic industrial base in Hunan Province with an area of 50,000 square meters, has been built to transform resource advantages into development advantages, turning a pure raw material supplier to a trader.

 

Nowadays, Chenzhou, rich in lithium mineral resources, is committed to making it a leading and national first-class “battery city”.
