“After one year of trial planting and two or three years of experience, our family planted more than 20 mu (about 1.33 hectares) of cantaloupes this year,” said Liao Hui. The first batch of cantaloupes were picked from June 18. 

 

“The cantaloupes in Daxi Village can yield 2,500 kg per mu (0.067 hectare), and the output value is about 15,000 yuan per mu. If harvested in batches, it can last until the middle of October,” said Yi Jinhong, Party branch secretary of Daxi Village, adding that “we are going to invite Internet celebrities and e-commerce anchors to recommend our cantaloupes through livestreaming.”
