Chenzhou girl wins gold in synchronized swimming

Fan Jiayi, a girl from Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, won the gold medal in team free routines and team technical routines of synchronized swimming at the 2023 FINA World Championships.

On July 17, the 4th competition day of the Fukuoka Swimming World Championships, the Chinese team performed the theme program of “Light of Life” in the final of the team technical routines of synchronized swimming, scoring 238.0033 points and winning the gold medal.
 
On July 21, the 8th day of the Fukuoka Swimming World Championships, the girls of the Chinese synchronized swimming team performed a perfect show “Gravity” in the final of the team free routines, and won the gold medal with a high score of 329.1687 points. This is the second gold medal won by the Chinese synchronized swimming team at this championships.

Fan Jiayi was born in November 1998. In September 2005, she went to the key amateur sports school in Beihu District for swimming training, and switched to synchronized swimming in February 2007. In September 2007, she was sent to the provincial team for training, during which she won a lot of awards with her own efforts, including the first place in mixed pair skills of 2019 National Synchronized Swimming Championship, the second place in mixed doubles of the 2019 National Synchronized Swimming Championships, and the third place of individual skills in the 2019 National Synchronized Swimming Championships.

Success was not achieved overnight. Fan Jiayi left home and practiced boring training day after day. In order to have a perfect show, she has made unimaginable efforts step by step from the key amateur sports school in Beihu District to the national team, from Chenzhou to Changsha, and from China to the world, finally shining in the world.
