In the end, the team from Matian Town, Yongxing County, Chenzhou City defeated the team from Chuanshanping Town, Miluo City, Yueyang City and won the championship, with a score of 65-61. The team from Xianrenwan Yao Township, Chenxi County, Huaihua City won the third place. So far, the 7-day Hunan “Village BA” has come to an end.

 

 

According to the competition system, the top two participants in the Hunan finals will represent Hunan to participate in the Southeast Division Village Basketball League and strive to enter the national finals which will be held in Taijiang County, Guizhou Province in October.

 

“The basketball atmosphere here is very strong,” said Wu Jian, coach of the team from Chuanshanping Town, Miluo City, Yueyang City, “Our players have played all the way from the village league to the municipal and provincial leagues. It is inspiring to be able to represent Hunan in the national tournament.”

 

The 2023 Hunan Village Basketball League as well as the National Selection Tournament was hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Hunan Sports Bureau, and the People’s Government of Huaihua City, with more than 180 members from 15 teams across Hunan participating in the sports event.
