The First Lithium Resource Innovation Application Development Conference was held in Chenzhou on August 26.
More than 300 domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the field of lithium resource application, industry elites, entrepreneurs and investors jointly discussed the development path of lithium mineral resources and related materials industry, and offered suggestions for the development of battery industry in Chenzhou.
Chenzhou, known as the “hometown of non-ferrous metals” and the “capital of microcrystalline graphite”, has identified nearly 10 kinds of mineral resources closely related to the development of the lithium new energy industry. Among them, it has the largest tungsten and bismuth reserves in the world, and 70% of the world’s microcrystalline graphite reserves.
Lithium-containing mineral resources were also found in granite and fluorite tailings in Linwu, Guiyang, Yizhang and other places, with preliminary estimates of lithium oxide reserves of more than 5 million tons, which can be continuously mined for 40 years according to the annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of lithium carbonate.
In recent years, the local government has attracted investment for the whole industry chain. It has signed a consortium agreement with Shanghai Anneng Industrial Construction Mining Group, Dazhong Mining, Corun and other 4 enterprises, and cultivated more than 40 enterprises in the battery industry, with the total revenue of battery industry exceeding 20 billion yuan in 2022. The city is seeking to cultivate more than 7 consortiums in the lithium new energy industry chain, and achieve the total output value of more than 150 billion yuan in the battery industry by 2025.
During the event, Huang Wei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xia Dingguo, professor of Peking University, Wang Xianyou, academician of the Russian International Academy of Engineering and other well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, made keynote reports.
Shanghai Anneng Industrial Construction Mining Group and Harbin Institute of Technology, Dazhong Mining and Yichun University, Willing New Energy and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology will sign a number of school-enterprise cooperation projects.
