At the main venue of the 6th Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival in Guiyang County, Chenzhou’s specialty dishes like Guiyang Soup, Linwu Duck and Jiahe Blood Sausage made visitors’ mouths water.
In recent years, Chenzhou has worked to build the Chenzhou Brand around its four major industries: vegetables, citrus fruits, tea, and pork, each valued at over 10 billion yuan. It has actively developed regional public brands alongside local brands and local agricultural product brands. Chenzhou has become a pioneer in catering industry in Hunan.
Leveraging its rich agricultural resources, the city crested seven major types of dishes, staples, and fruits. It carefully selected local agricultural products, such as Linwu duck, Mangshan black pigs, and Qifengdu fish rice noodles. These efforts have led to the introduction of 110 local dishes and 175 high-quality agricultural products.
To ensure the safety and security of consumers, the region places a strong emphasis on the quality of its agricultural products. It has encouraged green and standardized production practices, leading to over 98% overall qualification rates for agricultural product safety for five consecutive years. Key products like vegetables and tea have reached an 80% standardization production rate.
As of now, Chenzhou has integrated 991 agricultural enterprises into the national traceability platform and 501 into the provincial “identity card” platform, with 1,281 agricultural products identified with codes.
The city boasts 321 agricultural products certified as Green Food, Organic Produce and GI agricultural products. Zixing City has been included in the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety cities by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.
