On October 14, Chenzhou Museum was bustling with people as many citizens brought their children to see a grand cultural and historical exhibition and experience Chenzhou’s traditional culture and historical changes.
Chenzhou Museum is located on the northwest side of the intersection of Chenxian Road and Guiyuan Road in Suxian District of Chenzhou City (Building No. 1 of the Chenzhou Cultural Center).
It began trial operation on September 16. It is open between 9:00 and 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday. Citizens need to make online reservations before free visits.
Chenzhou Museum is a second-level national museum with a total area of approximately 12,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 5,000 square meters. It houses nearly ten thousand cultural relics, including over a thousand precious artifacts.
The museum features two main exhibitions: the Chenzhou Historical and Cultural Exhibition and the Exhibition of Important Modern and Contemporary Historical Events.
It showcases precious cultural relics such as Qianjiaping white pottery, Western Jin Dynasty bamboo slips, and a composite copper sword with double rings and inlaid turquoise.
The museum serves as a youth education base in Hunan Province, a patriotic education base in Chenzhou City, and a popular science base.
