“We have at least one rail-sea intermodal train departing from Chenzhou Land Port every day, heading to various parts of the world,” said Xie Zhiyu, general manager of Chenzhou Hunan-Guangdong-Africa International Logistics Co., Ltd. in Chenzhou.

 

With the goal of “building a 100-billion-yuan land port and Hunan-Guangdong-Jiangxi Open New Area”, Chenzhou Land Port is striving to build a multimodal transport system. 

 

It’s committed to building an international cooperation demonstration zone driven by free trade zone and land port, an important trade hub for the international corridor of the Belt & Road Initiative, a production service-oriented national logistics hub, and an international nonferrous metal distribution trading center.

Apart from smooth national multimodal transportation logistics system of highways and railways, there are also exported-oriented logistics channels like Chenzhou-Changsha-Europe international train, the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal train. 

 

Among them, the “Single E-lock Scheme” rapid customs clearance of Hunan-Guangdong Port is the first reform pilot of the General Administration of Customs in inland areas, effectively helping Chenzhou go global. 

 

Statistics show that in the first ten months of this year, the railway cargo throughput of Chenzhou Land Port was 4.4 million tons, and a total of 5,802 TEUs were shipped through 73 Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal trains.

 

The customs clearance time efficient for imported goods has been increased by 40%, that for exported goods increased by 30%, and logistics costs for rail-sea intermodal transportation reduced by 30%. 

 

The goods from Hunan to Hong Kong can be automatically and quickly released through “Single E-lock Scheme” at highway ports and affiliated sites, reducing the time required from 2-3 days to 1 day. The two licensed container trucks depart from Chenzhou directly to Hong Kong in just 7 hours. 

 

In addition, Chenzhou Land Port also provides customized services by extending its port service functions, offers efficient and convenient multimodal transportation channels for enterprises, in a bid to ensure the import and export demand of Chenzhou’s domestic and foreign trade goods, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of the regional economy. 

 

At present, it has reached strategic cooperation with Guangzhou Port, Yantian Port, Shekou Port, Chiwan Port and Mawan Port to jointly build a composite port. It has also launched Chenzhou central warehouse in Guangzhou Port Area, Chenzhou customs clearance business for imported mineral products, and Hunan-Guangdong unified business, providing enterprises with 14 types of comprehensive logistics services such as customs clearance, international logistics transportation and multimodal transportation. This also helps channels and industries deeply integrate into the GBA area. 

 

With the help of advantages of Chenzhou Land Port, Chenzhou-Africa Economic and Trade Industrial Park and a comprehensive service platform for trade with Africa were built. It has vigorously developed import and export trade in glass, furniture, clothing, shoes and hats, nonferrous metals and other related industries. Overseas trade supply chain enterprises and a nonferrous metal distribution center has been built.

 

At the same time, it leverages the advantages of Chenzhou’s nonferrous metal raw material smelting and processing, deep and specialized processing industry, as well as the advantages of Chenzhou land port nonferrous metal distribution platform, to carry out pilot customs clearance models.

 

The whole industrial chain of nonferrous metals in Chenzhou led to the rise of nonferrous metal ore products smelting, deep processing, manufacturing, futures delivery and other markets.
