Recently, at the demonstration base for planting morel mushrooms in Anping Town, Anren County, workers are busy building greenhouses to plant morel mushrooms in fallow fields in winter.
Anping Town has continued efforts to develop the characteristic industry of edible mushrooms. Pingshang Village and Caopo Village have planted 200-mu (about 13.33 hectares) morel mushrooms by building simple detachable sheds during the idle period of rice fields from November to April each year, and achieved a new agricultural production model of early rice- late rice-morel mushrooms rotation.
This crop rotation mode greatly reduces pests and diseases as well as the use of pesticides and fertilizers so as to improve soil conditions. Therefore, it has enhanced farmland fertility, increased farmers’ income, and achieved a balance between food production and the development of the characteristic industry.
Since the beginning of this year, Caopo Village in Anping Town has been seeking for fund support to strengthen village-level collective economic projects.
It has built a base for producing morel seeds and nutritional packs in the idle primary school of the village.
The base can provide nutritional packs for morel cultivation of 2,000 mu (about 133.33 hectares), and has achieved the full chain development including seed production, nutritional pack production, planting, and sales. It can also offer 200 jobs to villagers living nearby, adding new impetus to the agricultural strength of Anren County.
Anping Town is promoting the high-quality development of the edible mushroom industry to advance high-quality and efficient agriculture and help rural revitalization.
