The show integrates the history, culture, tourism, literature, and art of Chenzhou. It consists of five chapters to showcase the beauty of the nature, culture, and history in Chenzhou.

 

 

In the performance, folk activities such as Kunqu Opera, Incense Dragon Dance, and Nuo Opera, were staged. And the stories like the Xiangnan Uprising and the “Half A Quilt” that took place in Chenzhou moved the audience.

 

 

Chen Xiaolin, chief director of “The Ballad of Chenzhou”, said that it took 5 years to prepare for the performance. She often visited various places of Chenzhou for the creation. Chenzhou has beautiful natural landscapes, which brought her a lot of inspiration during the creative process. She hoped that more tourists can learn about Chenzhou and fall in love with it through “The Ballad of Chenzhou”.
