As night fell and lanterns lit up, the hot spring area of the Mangshan Forest Hot Spring Hotel in Yizhang County was bustling.

 

 

 

“I feel pretty good and comfortable. We enjoy natural scenery in scenic spots during the day, and then come here at night to soak in a hot spring to relieve fatigue. While appreciating the beauty of mountains and waters, we can also enjoy the romance of the hot springs,” said a tourist, who found the hot spring water made her more comfortable, physically and mentally.  

 

More than 60 unique pools are hidden in the mountains and forests. While taking a bath in the hot springs, tourists can enjoy beautiful scenery and relax themselves. Especially the infinity cliff hot spring pool built at a height of 520 meters attract many tourists. 

 

“I come from Dongguan, Guangdong Province with my family for the first time. They love swimming, so we chose this large boundless pool. Moreover, with beautiful scenery and good water quality, it’s quite a pleasure to bathe in the pool with my family,” said a Guangdong tourist. 

 

 

 

The hot spring water of the Mangshan Forest Hot Spring Hotel in Yizhang County is from 600 meters underground, with a water temperature of 55.5 degrees Celsius. It’s rich in various trace elements and minerals that are beneficial to human body, such as metasilicic acid.

 

As the hot spring tour is popular in winter, the hotel fully leverages its advantageous resources to launch theme activities. The hotel receives over 1,000 guests daily, and 80% of them are from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 

 

Yuan Dapeng, deputy general manager of the hotel, said that as the winter hot spring tourism is heating up, the scenic area has launched preferential measures to promote the popularity of winter tourism.

 

Yizhang County boasts abundant geothermal resources, with 12 hot spring mineral sites found in the county, making it a true “hometown of hot springs in China”.

 

This year, the county has launched a series of products integrating hot springs, wellness, parent-child entertainment and food, making the hot spring industry more diversified. 

 

Hot spring tour has become a “pioneer” in heating up winter cultural tourism market. Now, the county has developed more than 130 hot spring venues. And it’s expected to receive 1.2 million tourists and generate tourism revenue of 138 million yuan this year. 

 

“Based on the rich geothermal resources and the close distance to Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, we take the best of hot spring tourism resources to inject a continuous vitality into the off-season tourism market.” Cheng Lixia, director of the local cultural tourism department of Yizhang County, said that they would continuously enrich winter tourism products through the “hot spring plus” development model, making hot spring tourism more vibrant and sustainable.
