Prosperous industries are key to rural revitalization. Leisure agriculture spans the primary, secondary and tertiary industries. It’s of great significance for promoting the construction of beautiful countryside, rural economic development and comprehensive rural revitalization. 

 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs launched the construction of national key counties for leisure agriculture in 2021. 60 key counties for leisure agriculture nationwide are selected every year, aiming to create leading areas for high-quality development of leisure agriculture and promote the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. 

 

Now, there are 17,300 leisure agriculture operators in Hunan, and leisure agriculture has become an important support for the revitalization of rural industries and an important channel for increasing farmers’ income. 

 

As the core of tourism in southern Hunan, Suxian District has four 4A level tourist attractions, including Suxian Ridge and Gaoyi Ridge. It has been listed as the most beautiful county in China for many consecutive years. 

 

At present, more than 73% of administrative villages in Suxian District have met the standards for beautiful rural construction, and 21 star-rated farms have been built, including 2 national five-star and 8 provincial five-star ones. 

In 2022, there were 335 leisure agriculture operating entities in Suxian District, achieving a revenue of 490 million yuan, an increase of 28.9% compared to 2021.
