Baishui Yao Township is located on the northwest border of Guiyang County, the only ethnic minority township in Guiyang County. With an average altitude of over 800 meters, Baishui Township is a typical mountainous township, the farthest township from the county seat and the township with the highest average altitude. The unique geographical conditions and cultural environment have nurtured authentic and original ecological ingredients. 

 

This purchasing event aims to expand the sales channels of agricultural specialty products in ethnic minority areas, guide all sectors of society to pay attention to and support the development of ethnic minority areas, drive people’s income growth through consumption, and promote rural revitalization and high-quality development in ethnic minority areas. High-quality ingredients from ethnic regions will enter thousands of households through this event. 

 

More than ten supermarket managers, representatives of e-commerce buyers, overseas Chinese enterprises, and village assistance units from the county participated in the purchasing event. 

 

Such products with local characteristics and ethnic flavors as smoked bacon and sausage, black goat meat and native pork have become fast-selling products. Green ecological products such as Huaquan radish, natural honey in Yao mountains, Baishui ginger became popular. 

 

According to statistics, more than 10 orders and intent contracts were signed at the site, with a total amount of over 300,000 yuan, which will drive consumption of over 2 million yuan. 

 

In recent years, the county government has implemented assistance project for ethnic areas, and focused on enhancing the endogenous development momentum of ethnic areas, created 27 standardized bases for characteristic agriculture industries like vegetables, fruit and traditional Chinese medicine, and added 21 green and GI products.

 

Among them, Baishui pickled pepper has been selected as “One Township, One Product” project in Chenzhou City. Now, through order planting and deep processing, it has cultivated 300 mu (20 hectares) of pepper in Baishui Yao Township, with a production value up to 6 million yuan.
