Rucheng County has planted 130,000 mu (about 8,666.67 hectares) of pod pepper through joint efforts of leading enterprises, cooperatives and farmers. The average net income per mu (about 0.067 hectares) of pod pepper exceeds 3,000 yuan due to improved supporting facilities, promotion of green technologies, reduction of fertilizer and pesticide.  

 

Rucheng County has won the title of “National Leading Zone for Agricultural Green Development”, and has built one strong town for agricultural industry in China, one provincial-level characteristic chili town, one provincial-level modern agricultural industrial park, and four provincial-level modern agricultural characteristic industrial parks. Besides, there are 69 certified green food products in the county, and 15 production bases for the “Vegetable Basket” project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
