On January 23, more than 30 primary and secondary school students from Foshan City, Guangdong Province, visited Chenzhou. They will go to the World Nonferrous Metals Museum, Baoshan National Mining Park in Guiyang, Dongjianghu National Wetland Park, China (Hunan) International Mineral Gem Expo Trading Center, and famous mining caves for a 6-day mineral science study activity.
As the “hometown of non-ferrous metals in the world” and the “the capital of mineral crystals”, Chenzhou is highly favored by mineral collectors due to its diverse crystal forms, colors, and types, as well as unique mosaic of minerals.
There are over 10 mines in the city that produce mineral crystals. Among them, Yaogangxian Mine, Manaoshan Mine, Shizhuyuan Mine, and Xianghualing Mine are renowned internationally for their quantity and quality of mineral crystals.
In recent years, Chenzhou has attracted students from various provinces and cities to visit China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo (CMGE), Chenzhou mines and Mineral Museum, and opened up a new study and practice model based on mineral by integrating mineral knowledge into the study and life of primary and secondary school students in the city, which has increased the influence of CMGE in terms of science popularization and its driving effects.
