Rural tourism boosts villager’s income in Tianzishan Village

Zhong Shuifa, a villager in Tianzishan Village of Tiantang Town, Yizhang County, who worked in Guangdong earlier, renovated the idle first floor of his house into a restaurant, and the second and third floors into characteristic homestay inns with more than 500,000 yuan last year due to popular rural tourism in his hometown. In recent days, he's been very busy for the spring tourism boom.
In recent years, Tianzishan Village has made efforts to develop rural tourism based on the mountain and water resources and turn the village into a scenic area, allowing villagers to achieve employment at their doorstep.
Tianzishan Village is less than 15 kilometers away from Mangshan Mountain National Forest Park, with the Huangmang Tourism Highway passing through the village, providing unique transportation and resource advantages.
Relying on abundant tourism resources, since 2016, Tianzishan Village has developed the Yanziyan Scenic Spot with the theme of karst cave landscape tourism with more than 60 million yuan.
Meanwhile, villagers have participated in the development and construction of amusement facilities such as colorful slides, starry sky houses, and aerial flying cars through land and capital investment. This year, 48 households in the village achieved a total of over 170,000 yuan in dividends.
Currently, more than 200 mu (about 13.33 hectares) of peach trees are blooming around the scenic area, attracting a large number of tourists.
A tourist from Yueyang City said happily, “The natural scenery such as karst caves, peach blossoms, and waterfalls, is very beautiful, and the entertainment facilities also offer much fun. It’s a very pleasant travel experience.”
In Tianzishan Village, there are many villagers like Zhong Shuifa who returned to start businesses in their hometown. The development of rural tourism has sparked entrepreneurial enthusiasm in Tianzishan Village. Roads have been built, the village has been beautified, the people have become rich, and the village collective economy has been strengthened.
