“Sparrow Festival” in Guidong County falls on the second day of the second lunar month. With the dragon dancing to the sounds of suona, villagers planted “fruitful” bamboo branches in the fields and sang the “sparrow song” happily, praying for good weather and abundant harvest.

 

 

 

“‘Sparrow Festival’ is not only a celebration, but also the inheritance of traditional folk culture among villagers, a love for their homeland, a hope for a better life, and a beautiful vision for rural revitalization,” said Zhong Zhiyuan, mayor of Xinfang Township.
