At the opening ceremony, a variety of cultural and artistic programs were staged, attracting numerous tourists. In the agricultural specialty product exhibition area nearby, farmers sold their own fresh vegetables. “I came from the urban area of Chenzhou for tasty food and beautiful cole flowers,” said a tourist.

 

 

 

In Cuntou Village of Qifengdu Town, 1,200 mu (80 hectares) of cole flowers are in full bloom, forming a beautiful rural landscape with green mountains and residential buildings. Tourists immersed themselves in the beautiful spring scenery. 

 

Cole flowers beautify the village and promote the local tourism development.

 

 

 

In recent years, Cuntou Village has made efforts to explore the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries to create a new ecology integrating agriculture, culture, and tourism, and developed characteristic industries to improve agricultural production efficiency.

 

 

 

“Based on grain production and safety, we will develop rural tourism through the ‘flower appreciation economy’ and promote the integrated development of villages with their own products, views and industries, in a bid to improve agricultural efficiency and increase farmers’ income,” said Li Zheng, first secretary of the village.

 

The festival has further expanded the channels for villagers to increase income and promoted the rural tourism development.

 

 

 

It will continue until March 17, with an expected number of tourists exceeding 50,000. It’s expected to achieve the sales revenue of 200,000 yuan for food, green vegetables, as well as agricultural specialties, and 500,000 yuan for local retail and catering consumption.
