At the procurement site, tea farmers were seen queuing up with fresh tea leaves.

“To ensure the quality of tea, we measure the length and width of fresh tea leaves when purchasing. The length of second-class tea leaves cannot exceed 3.2 cm, and the width cannot exceed 1.2 cm,” said He Zhicheng, an executive of Lilo Tea processing factory. He introduced that fresh tea leaves used to make Lilo Tea need to go through strict selection and 12 processes before it is made and put on the market.

Lilo Ecological Tea Garden is located on high mountains ranging from 700 to 1,600 meters in Guidong County. Unlike tea gardens in hilly and plain areas, the tea trees here grow slower and produce tea later, which makes for the excellent quality of Lilo Tea.

The opening of this tea garden will help local tea farmers increase income, improve the efficiency of the company, and steadily develop the tea industry.

Since its establishment in 2007, Lilo Tea Company has been vigorously developing the tea industry. The company adopts a comprehensive business model of “company plus cooperative plus base plus farmers”, integrating tea planting, production, sales and agricultural tourism. This opened a good way for locals to become rich through tea planting.

The company drives 22,000 people in Qingquan Town and Qiaotou Township to plant tea, and helps more than 5,000 poor farmers through multiple forms like employment, donations and tea leaves purchases.
