Over 600,000 green vegetable seedlings are growing well in the smart seedling base of the cooperative. The micro spray system is moving back and forth on the trellis to replenish the water for the vegetable seedlings regularly, and workers are also busy blending the soil mix on the automated assembly line. 

 

Deng Yijun, head of the base, introduced that the seedling base is cultivating many kinds of vegetables and fruit seedlings such as pepper, eggplant and tea seedlings. The mechanization helps lower the cost of raising seedlings and improve the emergence rate. 

 

“Now, we can raise more than 2 million seedlings and raise over 1,000 mu (66.67 hectares) of rice seedlings,” Deng added. 

 

 

 

In recent years, based on local agricultural industries, Bianjiang Subdistrict has actively developed modern agriculture, vigorously promoted advanced production technologies and processes like greenhouse vegetable, rice-rapeseed rotation and centralized seedling raising, developed smart agriculture and gradually promoted intelligent seedling cultivation, integrated tillage, planting and harvesting.

 

The planting industrial chains like vegetable, fruit and grain and oil are improving, with more added value and stronger market competitiveness. 

 

As of now, it has completed a spring sowing area of 24,000 mu (1,600 hectares), with grain and oil crops of 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares), vegetables of 7,000 mu (about 466.67 hectares) and other crops of 2,000 mu (about 133.33 hectares).  The traditional agricultural industry is moving forward towards modernization and intelligence.
