The Tielu River Rice-rapeseed rotation Demonstration Base in Daping Town was established and invested by agricultural enterprises in October 2022, with a total of over 3,000 mu (200 hectares) now, an increase of over 1,000 mu (about 66.67 hectares) from last year. 

 

The base has gathered more than 30 large planting households and business entities to make full use of winter idle fields and bring an income increase of more than 3,000 yuan annually for more than 2,000 farmers.

 

Over these years, Daping Town has created a tea tourism leisure and sightseeing area between the Xitou Village and Donggang Ridge, a rice-rapeseed rotation demonstration base in Tielu River, and the agricultural study tour base along the 106 National Highway led by modern agricultural industrial parks. 

 

 

At the same time, 11 demonstration bases for characteristic industries such as chili peppers and lentils, and 4 fruit picking bases have been developed, with an average annual income increase of over 1,200 yuan for more than 10,000 households in the town.

 

In addition, Daping Town has also continued efforts to develop tourism resources and create rural tourism routes such as appreciating the beautiful flower sea by the Tielu River, experiencing the rich traditional culture in the Jiuxian Temple, enjoying Baimao tea in the tea tourism leisure sightseeing area, and tasting grapes and strawberries in the fruit base.

 

Meanwhile, it has advanced the protection, development, and utilization of traditional ancient villages, as well as the high-quality development of cultural, tourism, and wellness industries, so as to promote the integration of agriculture and tourism by enriching rural business forms, in a bid to increase farmers’ income.

 

 

In recent years, Rucheng County has explored and utilized the resource advantages like Red culture, hot springs, and green ecology, and driven the high-quality development of the agricultural industry by organizing rich activities such as cole flower festivals, tea culture festivals, and hot spring tourism seasons, so as to accelerate the integrated development of agriculture and tourism, and improve quality and efficiency of rural industries, rural construction, and rural governance.

 

“We will continue to promote the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas, and help farmers boost income,” said an official.
