In the bamboo shoot processing factory, workers are busy processing bamboo shoots with each process like peeling, cleaning, cooking and baking operated in strict accordance with standards to ensure the quality and taste of bamboo shoots. 

 

Dabujiang Township has over 40,000 mu (2,666.67 hectares) of bamboo forests, with great potential for bamboo shoots. Local villagers once picked, dried and sought sales of bamboo shoots all by themselves for a long time in the past, but it was not efficient and brought low income. 

 

How to turn bamboo shoots into real benefits has become a difficult problem for the development of the bamboo industry in Dabujiang. 

 

In November 2023, the village utilized funds from the provincial government and mobilized some wealthy villagers to build a bamboo shoot processing plant with a total investment of 1.5 million yuan. 

 

Liao Xunming, head of the factory, said: “There are so many bamboos in our hometown, so I want to build a processing factory to process bamboo shoots and help villagers increase income. We are responsible for early processing and the products are mainly sold to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. Now, we are not worried about sales thanks to contract farming.”

 

Now, with the daily processing capacity of about 500 kg, the factory has provided job opportunities for about 40 villagers and solved sales difficulties of bamboo shoots in surrounding townships. 

 

Next, the county government will actively explore resource advantages, continuously improve infrastructure and equipment, support professional cooperatives, cultivate and strengthen new business entities such as leading enterprises, further expand and strengthen characteristic industries, in a bid to inject new vitality into rural revitalization.
