Recently, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the list of the sixth batch of representative projects of provincial-level intangible cultural heritage (ICH). The Guiyang soybean oil production technique, the custom of worshipping ancestors at the Double Ninth Festival in Guiyang, and the making technique of Guiyang diced pork in pot were included on the list.
In recent years, through the protection and inheritance of ICH projects such as Guiyang Yao songs and Hunan Opera, Guiyang County has showcased its rich historical culture and regional characteristics to the outside world, adding new highlights to the development of the cultural and tourism industry.
“We are committed to exploring and protecting the ICH resources of our county. Through the selection of these ICH projects, we hope to further enhance the public’s awareness of ICH culture, thus injecting new vitality into the development of cultural undertakings, and creating new growth poles for the cultural and tourism industry of Guiyang County,” said an official of the culture and tourism department of the county.
