In recent years, Caojiaben Village has vigorously developed the mugwort industry based on its natural resources. Through planting, processing, and sales of mugwort, it has gradually transformed traditional agriculture into modern characteristic agriculture, providing a new way for villagers to increase income.

At the mugwort planting base of Hunan Chengtuo Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. located in the village, some workers are harvesting mugwort, and some are collecting seedlings and raw materials for farmers who would like to plant mugwort.

Since its establishment in June 2021, the company has adopted an industry management model of “Party branch plus company plus base plus farmer”, providing farmers nearby with jobs. It also imparts planting experience and conducts technical training, helping farmers increase their income by planting mugwort.

Mugwort has a short growth cycle and can be harvested four times a year. At present, a complete industrial chain of mugwort planting, processing, and sales has been established in the village.

In order to enhance the market advantage of mugwort products, the company will also launch stone-ground moxa this year, which can better preserve the original efficacy of mugwort through the traditional stone-ground low-temperature extraction technology.

“Our products are sold online and offline to Shandong, Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei and other places, with an annual output value of about 3 million yuan,” said Zhong Yulong, chairman of the company.
