The 12th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) was held in Chenzhou from May 17 to May 21. Yongxing County of Chenzhou City showed its precious metal industry to domestic and foreign visitors at the expo.
The Yongxing Exhibition Hall presents the hundreds of years of development of Yongxing County’s rare and precious metal industry from ancient smelting to modern circular economy through such sections as industry overview, development history, industrial advantages and Yongxing model. It interprets the historical origins, current situation, fruitful achievements and future development prospects of this industry.
Two tons of silver are neatly arranged in the center of the exhibition hall, showcasing the strong strength of Yongxing County in the rare and precious metal industry to exhibitors with its pure luster and huge volume.
In other areas of the exhibition hall, various production materials are placed, including nonferrous metallurgical industry waste, electronic and electrical industry waste, and chemical industry waste. These materials, which were once considered as waste, have been fully utilized and transformed in the rare and precious metal industry in Yongxing County.
Through advanced recycling technologies and processes, these wastes are transformed into precious metal resources, injecting new vitality into the economic development of Yongxing County.
As the famous silver city of China, Yongxing County has over 300 years of history of rare and precious metal industry. After more than 300 years of development, the rare and precious metal industry has gradually achieved transformation and upgrading from traditional techniques to modern technology, as well as from low-end production to high-end development.

Yongxing County rare and precious metals industrial cluster is a national characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises, and an advanced manufacturing industrial cluster in Hunan Province.
Currently, there are 73 core enterprises in the industrial cluster, 30 comprehensive recycling enterprises for rare and precious metals, 10 deep processing enterprises, and more than 33 businesses providing related industrial chain services and enterprises engaged in other extended industries.
Among them, there are 26 national high-tech enterprises, 5 provincial engineering technology research centers, 2 national level specialized and “little giant” enterprises, and 12 provincial “little giant” small and medium-sized enterprises.
In 2023, the revenue of the rare and precious metal industry cluster in Yongxing County was 86.853 billion yuan, with a tax payment of 1.78 billion yuan and a profit of 6.824 billion yuan.
