On the afternoon of June 1, 45 Hong Kong tourists, aged between 60 to 70 years old, visited the scenic area. Staffs of the scenic area held a series of activities to welcome them. 

 

“With the increasing popularity of hot spring tour, more and more tourists come from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).” A head of the scenic area introduced that apart from drifting, hot spring bathing and characteristic catering services, there are also wonderful projects like barbecue, bonfire party and folk activities in the scenic area. 

 

Rucheng County is located at the junction of Hunan, Guangdong, and Jiangxi provinces, adjacent to the GBA. It has rich natural hot spring resources, with Reshui Hot Spring, Nuanshui Hot Spring and Chang’an Ecological Town Hot Spring. 

 

 

Especially Reshui hot spring, with the highest water temperature of 98 degrees Celsius, is rich in more than 30 health elements such as radon. With large water flow, high water temperature and good water quality, it’s known as the No.1 hot spring in South China. 

 

Relying on the unique hot spring resources, Rucheng Hot Spring and Fuquan Art Springs have been approved as a national five-starred hot spring tourism enterprise and a national high quality rare hot spring. The local government has also developed such scenic areas as Guanxi Villa, Deshou Mountain and Feishui Stockaded Village, and promoted the development of hot spring wellness. 

 

In recent years, the county government has held colorful cultural tourism activities like rural cultural tourism festival, hot spring tourism vacation season and hot spring party to continuously stimulate the cultural tourism market, and enhance the tourism popularity. 

 

What’s more, groups were organized to participate in tourism promotion conferences and cultural tourism investment fairs in Foshan, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chongqing and other places. 

 

It has strengthened cooperation with travel agencies in the GBA, about 100 travel agencies in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, and Chenzhou Five Champion Travel Agency. It has signed more than 200 letters of intent for cross-regional cooperation.

 

Not long ago, the county was awarded the title of “China’s best hot spring wellness tourism and vacation destination”. 

 

Such hot spring enterprises as Fuquan Art Springs and Guanxi Villa in Rucheng County were organized to participate in the 32nd Guangzhou International Tourism Fair from May 16 to 18. 

 

Through setting up exhibition booths, playing special films and on-site promotion, they interacted with global tourists, and had in-depth discussions with top tier cultural tourism enterprises.

 

 

This fully showcases the unique charm and health benefits of local hot spring tour, and activates new impetus for tourism development. Rucheng County’s hot spring tour has gained popularity with its promotion efforts. 

 

Now, the tourist source of hot spring wellness in Rucheng County has been expanded. 

 

This year, the number of tourists from the GBA received by hot spring tourism attractions in the county has seen an increase of 50% year on year, showing an upward trend. 

 

Zhong Deyuan, director of the Rucheng County Cultural Tourism Service Center, said that in the future, they would fully utilize the hot spring resources, increase tourism promotion efforts, and accelerate the pace to link up with the GBA, so as to attract more tourists from the GBA to enjoy hot springs and experience unique wellness culture.
