Chenzhou Angao Solid State Battery Research Institute was unveiled, and 24 projects related to the lithium battery industry were signed, with a total investment of 22.98 billion yuan at the Hunan Lithium Battery New Energy Industry as well as Solid State Battery Product Cooperation Matchmaking Conference held in Linwu County of Chenzhou City on June 18.
Chenzhou is known as the “hometown of non-ferrous metals” and the “capital of microcrystalline graphite”. As of now, more than 140 types of minerals have been explored and discovered in Chenzhou City, of which nearly 10 are closely related to the development of the lithium battery new energy industry.
In the past three years, lithium-bearing mineral resources have been discovered in Linwu, Guiyang, Yizhang, Guidong, Rucheng and other places of Chenzhou, with preliminary estimate of lithium oxide reserves exceeding 5 million tons.
Zhang Xiaokun, chief technology officer of Sichuan Angao Special Electric Technology Co., Ltd., said that there is strong support, good investment conditions, and excellent service for the development of lithium battery new energy industry in Chenzhou. He hoped that relying on Chenzhou’s abundant resources and continuously optimized industrial ecology, the solid-state battery technology research and application of the company can develop in Linwu and go global.
According to statistics, since 2022, Chenzhou has introduced more than 80 lithium battery new energy projects, with a total investment of over 140 billion yuan and a completed investment of over 40 billion yuan.
In 2023, the lithium battery new energy industry in Chenzhou was included in national industrial clusters in Hunan Province, and seven consortium projects started construction. According to the plan, Chenzhou’s lithium battery new energy industry is expected to reach the output value of 80 billion yuan in 2024, 150 billion yuan in 2025, 250 billion yuan in 2027, and 500 billion yuan in 2032.
