In recent years, the town government has strengthened regional cooperation between Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, coordinated the development of tea industry, tea culture and tea science and technology, thus forming a tea industrial chain with 10,000-mu (666.67 hectares) tea sightseeing garden as the core and large-scale planting and processing enterprises as the main body. 

 

Up to now, the town has a tea base of 35,000 mu (about 2,333 hectares), with an annual output of 750 tons of dry tea and an output value of nearly 187 million yuan. 

 

144 rural households in the town are engaged in the development of tea. 

 

 

4 enterprises above designated size introduced advanced production machinery to effectively improve tea production efficiency and help villagers increase income. 

 

In addition to strengthening traditional industries like tea, the town has worked to promote the cultivation of reed leaves by introducing a large-scale reed leave deep processing enterprise. 

 

 

The company purchases about 90% of fresh leaves in the town and surrounding townships at a stable purchase price, and provides over 100 job opportunities. Qingquan Town has become a famous distribution center for reed leaves in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area.
