Hou Zhihui wins women’s 49kg at Paris 2024

Hunan weightlifter Hou Zhihui won gold in the women’s 49 kg weightlifting event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She lifted 89kg in the snatch and an Olympic record-breaking clean and jerk of 117kg, achieving a winning total of 206kg.

So far, Hunan-born athletes have clinched three golds at the Paris Olympics, surpassing the number at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.
