Recently, the chili pepper planting base of Yinxi Village, Zhuquan Town, Jiahe County was a hive of activity, and more than 50 villagers were busy picking, sorting, and basketing chili peppers.
“The planting base covers an area of more than 500 mu (about 33.33 hectares), and chili peppers have now entered the harvesting period. Today, we have harvested about 2,000 kilograms,” said Li Bing, Party secretary of Yinxi Village.
In May of this year, in order to create a high-standard farmland demonstration zone and strengthen the village collective economy, Yinxi Village, relying on existing land resources, planted more than 500 mu (about 33.33 hectares) of chili peppers with Hunan Lawang Food Co., Ltd. and built a large-scale chili pepper planting base.
The base has optimized the agricultural industry structure of Yinxi Village, promoted the large-scale and standardized development of the village’s industry, and provided a platform for villagers nearby to increase their income.
Next, Yinxi Village will make efforts to build the chili food industry chain in a bid to strengthen the village collective economy and increase villagers’ income.
