Recently, Dongjiang Fish was selected as a typical case in China.

 

Zixing City is the only key fishing county in the southern Hunan region, and the Dongjiang fish is famous for being produced in the Dongjiang Lake of Zixing City. 

 

In recent years, the local government has increased policy support and developed Dongjiang fish into a characteristic industry. 

 

The quality of Dongjiang fish has been improved through technology and standards. 

 

Work has been well done to build brands and integrate agriculture and tourism to accurately connect with the market. 

 

The Dongjiang fish industry chain in Zixing City continues to extend, and the base continues to improve. 

 

There are more than 30 enterprises engaged in the processing of Dongjiang fish products in the city, including one national agricultural leading enterprise and three provincial-level enterprises. 

 

It has the largest eel facility fishery base and the only sturgeon caviar processing base in the province.

 

In 2023, the aquaculture area of Dongjiang fish was 204,800 mu (about 13,653 hectares), with a yield of 36,700 tons. The comprehensive output value of the entire Dongjiang fish industry chain reached nearly 3 billion yuan, driving 26,000 farmers to increase the average household income by more than 100,000 yuan.
