In recent days, nearly 15 mu (1 hectare) of red-heart dragon fruit in Leshuihe Village, Tiantang Town, Yizhang County, are ripe, attracting many surrounding residents to pick them. This has driven the industrial development and provided rich rural tourism experiences for pickers.

 

 

Yang Shuitian, the owner of the dragon fruit orchard, said, “From land transfer to planting red-heart dragon fruit by myself now, I can earn reliable income and improve our life.”

 

During the planting process, Yang Shuitian applies natural organic fertilizers and even plays music for it. At night, many LED lights are lit up to promote photosynthesis, produce nutrients, and provide oxygen, and ensure its sweet taste. 

 

 

As of now, dragon fruit has entered its full bearing period. About six batches can be harvested till the New Year’s Day, and it’s expected to reach a total output value of about 120,000 yuan this year.
