Recently, workers were busy picking pleurotus geesteranus in the intelligent mushroom houses of Hunan Tongrong Agricultural Development Company in Pingshang Village, Anping Town, Anren County.
The pleurotus geesteranus production base is a key project to promote local industrial revitalization. It has a total investment of 50 million yuan, an area of 9,000 square meters and a construction area of 4,800 square meters.
Now, the construction of the first phase of the project consisting of one automated mushroom bag production line, three hypha cultivation rooms, five intelligent fruiting rooms, and three cold storage rooms has been completed.
There will be a 500-square-meter inoculation purification workshop and 15 intelligent fruiting rooms in the second phase of the project. Once completed, it’s expected to produce 3.6 million mushroom bags and 1,800 tons of edible mushrooms annually, with an output value of 20 million yuan.
“Previously, we planted mushrooms in greenhouses, which was greatly affected by climate and seasons. High temperature weather was not suitable for mushroom cultivation, resulting in a low yield, low income and unstable quality. The intelligent mushroom house meets the best needs of different growth stages of pleurotus geesteranus through intelligent regulation of temperature, humidity and light intensity, and is no longer affected by seasonal temperature differences. It can produce mushrooms all year round, with the quality and efficiency of mushroom production improved,” said an executive of the company.
After the second phase of the base is completed, it is expected to produce 5 tons of mushrooms per day, which will offer 100 employment opportunities to surrounding villagers, and increase the annual income of the village collective by 150,000 yuan.
