The 4.5-kilometer S-shaped winding mountain road section is characterized by high mountains, narrow roads, steep slopes, and sharp bends. Many parts are connected by blasting and manual excavation on the edge of cliffs. 

 

 

After the opening of the Wugai Mountain Tourist Highway, now it only takes 40 minutes to reach the top of Wugai Mountain over 1,000 meters above sea level, which used to take about 90 minutes by car. The local villagers refer to it as the “road to prosperity”.
