All villagers took off their shoes, rolled up their pants, and went into the fish pond to catch fish at 8 am.

 

After that, everyone handed over all the fish caught to the village fishpond organizing committee for weighing. Then those fish were distributed evenly to households according to population, and the slightly smaller fish belonged to the fishermen. 

 

Meanwhile, the organizing committee also charged one yuan per person to purchase fish fry for the following year.

 

 

“Today, I caught over ten fish, including carp and male fish. This activity is held in our village every Mid-Autumn Festival, with a history of more than 100 years,” said a villager.

 

The fishpond organizing committee is responsible for the purchase and breeding of fish, and releases matters about the festival. It is held on the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, which has become the busiest day in the village. All villagers, whether those working and studying outside, or those married to someone outside the village, will come back to participate in the activity to celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival.
