Early in the morning, villagers were catching fish at the super rice demonstration base of Shichong Village, Dukou Township of Anren County to celebrate the harvest and boost tourism.

 

 

In recent years, after Danxia Mountain was successfully developed into a national 3A scenic spot in Shichong Village, Shichong Village has focused on building a beautiful countryside and promoting rural tourism. 

 

 

The village has renovated rural houses with the southern Hunan style, built walkways, pavilions, public toilets, parking lots, and hardened asphalt roads. 

 

With the booming tourism, local agricultural products like pickled vegetables, dried beans and sweet potato slices, as well as homestay inns and firewood dishes are becoming increasingly popular.

 

 

At the same time, the village also vigorously transfers land to develop aquatic industries like fish fry and loaches based on actual conditions. Over 60% of villagers in the village now work at their doorstep, with an annual per capita net income of 18,000 yuan. 

 

Shichong Village has also won such honorary titles as a provincial key village for rural tourism and a provincial demonstration village for beautiful countryside. 

 

 

This event aimed to take rice-fish farming as a major highlight of rural tourism to further strengthen the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism to promote the prosperity of the village and enrich the people.
