In the production workshop, workers make mugwort plants into powder, and seal it in bags, processing them into mugwort foot bath bags, which will be quickly packed and transported to all over the country for sales.

 

Mugwort is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb that has the effects of dispelling cold and dampness, warming meridians and stopping bleeding, and is easy to grow with high added value. 

 

In March 2020, to increase the village’s collective economic income, Caojiaben village, based on its abundant mountainous resources, introduced Hunan Chengtuo Ecological Agricultural Development Co.,Ltd through the business model of “company plus base plus farmers” to vigorously develop the mugwort planting industry, and help villagers increase income. 

 

With a complete industrial chain, mature planting experience, and broad market prospects, many merchants from other places come to inspect the company and seek cooperation opportunities.

 

 

After years of development, the village has planted over 2,000 mu (133.33 hectares) of mugwort and built an mugwort processing plant covering an area of over 8,000 square meters. It can produce more than ten types of health and wellness products such as mugwort velvet pillows, mugwort sticks and foot soak bags.

 

It has achieved an annual sales revenue of over 3 million yuan through both online and offline channels, bringing over 50,000 yuan in operating income to the village collective economy and driving employment and income growth for over 200 villagers in the surrounding areas. 

 

“We will further expand the planting area, improve the quality of products, and widen sales channels to sell Yizhang mugwort nationwide and help more villagers increase income,”said Zhong Yulong, chairman of the company.
