Before plunging into the bamboo industry, he was engaged in the plastic products industry in Beijing. Faced with the ban on free plastic bags as well as the increasingly popular ecological concept of green and environmental protection, the company turned to the research, design, and production of bamboo, a new environmentally-friendly material.

 

Chenzhou City has rich bamboo forest resources, with a total bamboo forest area of over 1.5 million mu (100,000 hectares), ranking third in Hunan. Chen Hongzhuan, who grew up in Chenzhou since childhood, knows about the resource endowment of his hometown, so he decided to start up his business in Chenzhou based on local conditions.

 

Since 2017, the company has been laying out the bamboo industry chain. Traditional bamboo processing methods are time-consuming and prone to mold and deterioration. 

 

Chen Hongzhuan led the team to innovate the production process and shortened the production cycle to 3 days, achieving an efficient mode of processing and production on the same day, and sales in 7 days.

 

Nowadays, the company has passed ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification, BRC Global Standard Food Safety Certification, FSC international forest system certification, and has been awarded the “Hunan Forestry Leading Enterprise”, “National High-tech Enterprise”, and “Specialized, Refined, Characteristic and Innovative Little Giant Enterprise”.

 

In addition, the company has also completed the first business transaction under the Chenzhou cross-border e-commerce 9710 (B2B direct export) and 9810 (B2B export overseas warehouse), and formulated the first enterprise standard of “Bamboo Tableware” within the known scope.

 

As the vice president of Hunan Bamboo Industry Association, Chen Hongzhuan said that he is working on drafting the implementation standards for the bamboo products industry to help the development of Hunan’s bamboo industry.

 

Nowadays, bamboo has become a new economic growth point. In 2023, the output value of the bamboo industry in Hunan reached 59.4 billion yuan, ranking among the top in the country. Currently, there are over 4,000 registered bamboo processing enterprises in Hunan.

 

In February of this year, Hunan launched the “Five Year Action Plan” for high-quality development of the bamboo industry, aiming to increase the output value of Hunan’s bamboo industry to over 100 billion yuan within five years.

 

 

 

Chen Hongzhuan was so proud when he looked at the rows of exquisite bamboo products in the company’s exhibition hall. He has embarked on a new path of deep processing of bamboo from polymer modified materials to bamboo-plastic composite materials, and now to the natural bamboo pollution-free process.

 

The launch of the "Five Year Action Plan" for high-quality development of Hunan's bamboo industry will bring us more challenges and opportunities. He also has new plans.

 

He plans to integrate the bamboo forest resources in Chenzhou to build Chenzhou into a distribution center for bamboo knives, forks, and spoons. He will establish 3 to 5 bamboo cooperatives based on bamboo forests across Chenzhou, and work together with local farmers to develop bamboo forest resources.
