The small green oranges in Huawang Township of Anren County have entered the ripening period.
Farmers are busy working in the orchard for harvest.
As early as September this year, many customers including regular ones came to place orders.
“Our oranges are well recognized by the market. Every year, a large number of oranges are sold to Changsha, Chenzhou, Hengyang and other places. The small green oranges have a pure and sweet taste, and the sugar oranges in the orchard are also of good quality,” said Tang Anjia, a large grower.
He has an orchard with an area of nearly 200 mu (about 13.33hectares). He strictly controls the quality of small green oranges through scientific planting techniques and fine management methods, and is committed to providing consumers with the highest quality fruits.
At the same time, Huawang Township has made efforts to promote the development of agricultural industrialization. It has actively participated in agricultural product fairs and other activities to expand sales channels for small green oranges.
“Nowadays, the orchard directly helps dozens of people find jobs at their doorstep. This year, due to the fine management, small green oranges have increased the yield per mu (about 0.067 hectares) by more than 500 kilograms, and increased the income of fruit farmers by more than 5,000 yuan. Currently, many tourists and merchants come for sightseeing and negotiation every day,” said Tan Fen, Party secretary of Huawang Township.
In recent years, Huawang Township has explored new models of industrial development and made every effort to create a distinctive fruit industry. It has developed high-quality fruit industries such as small green oranges, sugar tangerines, pomelos, and eagle billed peach. Nowadays, the fruitful orchards help enrich the fruit varieties in the market, inject strong impetus into local economic development, and increase farmers’ income.
