In the navel orange planting base of Shishan Village, Changcun Township, Yizhang County, branches are covered with navel oranges, like small lanterns dotting the green leaves. 

 

“This year, our company’s navel orange base planted over 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of navel oranges, with an expected output of 200,000 kg and a production value of about 2 million yuan.” Deng Ting, general manager of Chenzhou Songrun Agricultural Development Company, said that through scientific planting and careful management, the navel oranges in the base have excellent quality, with juicy and crispy flesh and sweet taste, and are deeply loved by consumers.

 

Combined with online sales models, these navel oranges have been sold to other places of the country, bringing considerable economic benefits to fruit farmers. 

 

 

The company’s navel oranges are mainly sold retail, and regular customers from last year are coming to buy them again. The daily sales volume reaches 2,000 kilograms, and sometimes even more than ten tons are shipped to the three northeastern provinces through cold chain trucks. The retail price is around 10 yuan per kilogram.

 

The development of navel orange industry not only brings benefits to fruit farmers, but also effectively drives employment for nearby villagers. The navel orange planting base provides more than 20 job opportunities for nearby villagers, allowing them to work at their doorstep. 

 

As the main production area of navel oranges in the advantageous industrial belt of Southern Jiangxi-Southern Hunan-Northern Guangxi, there are 303,000 mu (20,200 hectares) of navel oranges in Yizhang County, with a comprehensive output value of over 2 billion yuan, benefiting about 100,000 people in the navel orange industry.

 

The golden navel oranges have become an important way for local people to increase income, injecting new vitality into rural revitalization.
