The 5th Chenzhou Rural Entrepreneurship Competition was held on December 3. It aimed to select a group of agricultural product processing entrepreneurship projects, stimulate entrepreneurial vitality and boost entrepreneurial momentum.
The competition includes comprehensive agricultural products processing and soybean processing. 21 projects from all over the city participated in it.
The projects involve technology-supported characteristic breeding, digitally-empowered rural industries, as well as agriculture, culture and tourism.
At the site, agricultural makers and new farmers carefully introduced product features, innovative technologies, entrepreneurial stories to promote their respective projects and showcase infinite possibilities of rural entrepreneurship and innovation.
For example, the 5G intelligent production line project aims to achieve a production scale of 300,000 tons of high-end organic rice annually through three automated organic rice production lines, which will improve efficiency and food quality.
The traditional Chinese medicinal herb project is based on the ecological planting of high-quality Chinese medicinal materials and deep processing, giving full play to important advantages and regional brands to help farmers increase income.
The honeysuckle project will carry out technological innovation in seedling cultivation, planting and processing of honeysuckle.
After fierce competition, a total of 9 first, second and third prizes were finally awarded.
In 2023, the industrial chain output value of Chenzhou’s advantageous characteristic industries exceeded 179 billion yuan, and the total output value of the city’s agricultural processing industry exceeded 156.6 billion yuan, ranking first in the province in terms of growth rate.
At the same time, the city has vigorously encouraged Hunan entrepreneurs outside the province to develop in their hometowns. Up to now, there are 41,500 newly added entities founded by those who returned to their hometowns, and 78,500 people who returned to start their businesses.
