Multiple plays from Chenzhou City have won artistic awards at the closing ceremony of the 8th Hunan Arts Festival held in Changsha City on the evening of November 28. 

 

 

Among them, the Hunan opera “Ouyang Hai” created by the Hunan Opera Protection and Inheritance Center in Guiyang County won the Tianhan Award. 

 

It took three years to complete the drama. Based on the heroic deeds of Ouyang Hai, a soldier of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, who, at the critical moment of the collision between a train and a horse, pushed away the horse to avoid the derailment, it shows Ouyang Hai’s noble spirit of self-sacrifice through the traditional art form of Hunan Opera.

 

 

In addition, the musical “Jiang Mengnan” performed by Chenzhou Song and Dance Troupe won the Tianhan Drama Award. It starts from the moment when Jiang Mengnan, a Chenzhou girl who won “Touching China” award, wore an artificial cochlea, and reviews her hard journey from childhood to adulthood through flashback.

 

The Hunan Arts Festival is Hunan’s comprehensive art activity with the highest standards, largest scale, and most far-reaching influence, which is held every three years. 

 

At the event, the Huagu Opera “Younger Female Schoolmate Returns Home” of Yongxing County Huagu Opera Protection and Inheritance Center and the Kunqu Opera “San Jue Bei” of Hunan Kunqu Opera Troupe won the Tianhan New Drama Awards. 

 

The Kunqu Opera “A Story of Fisherwoman” of Hunan Province Kunqu Opera Troupe won the Excellent Comeback Play. 

 

The Hunan Opera “Ouyang Hai” and Huagu Opera “Younger Female Schoolmate Returns Home” also won the Tianhan Director Awards.
