Taro industry boosts rural revitalization in Jiaoxi village

In recent years, Jiaoxi Village in Yuxi Town, Yizhang County has vigorously developed the taro planting industry according to actual conditions. Through modern processing technology and equipment, the added value of taro products has been enhanced, effectively driving local economic development. Nowadays, taro has become a prosperous industry in the village.
In the taro planting base of Jiaoxi village, villagers were busy harvesting taros.
Shangjiao Planting and Breeding Professional Cooperative planted over 100 mu (6.67 hectares), with a yield of about 2,000 kg and an output value of about 10,000 yuan.
Wu Liming, head of the cooperative, said that taros the cooperative harvested will be made into delicious taro chips and sold all over the country.
Apart from the direct economic benefits brought by taro, villagers can also get income from planting, managing and harvesting taros. This helps solve the employment problems of local and surrounding villagers, allowing more villagers to increase income at their doorstep.
The taro industry has seen continuous development through technological innovation, bringing more income to local villagers. The local government has also managed to enhance the popularity of the village through integration of agriculture and tourism, enabling the people to enjoy more benefits.
