He Zengliang introduced that the sales period of dekopon oranges lasts from December this year to next April. The total output of dekopon oranges this year is about 10,000 kg, with each weighing about 500 grams.

In 2018, He Zengliang, who was working outside, keenly discovered the unique charm of the dekopon orange and decided to return to his hometown to plant it. At that time, no one had grown this fruit in the county. After thorough market research and preparation, He Zengliang contracted 45 mu (3 hectares) of wasteland to plant it.

In 2019, he purchased saplings from Pujiang, Sichuan Province, which is known for its abundant production of dekopon oranges.

In recent years, he has continuously improved his techniques and implemented scientific management, resulting in a better taste of dekopon oranges.

The sweetness of dekopon oranges is closely related to the amount of organic fertilizer applied. Normally, it’s sufficient to apply organic fertilizer twice a year, as this will result in higher organic content in the fruit and faster deacidification. Dekopon oranges usually bear fruit in May.

To reduce degraded fruits and ensure the yield and quality of dekopon oranges, He Zengliang also paid special attention to the fine management during the growth process of dekopon oranges.

He controls pests through physical means, reduce the use of pesticides to improve the quality and taste of the fruit.

Now, there are various fruits such as dekopon orange, Orah mandarin, and peaches in He’s orchard. Through years of efforts, his fruit business has been getting better. It’s expected to harvest over 10,000 kg of dekopon oranges and over 30,000 kg of Orah mandarins, with a total revenue of over 100,000 yuan.

At the same time, the orchard has provided over 10 job opportunities for local villagers, effectively helping locals increase income.
