Solid-state batteries for drones rolled off the production line at Hunan Joysun An’gao Technology Co., Ltd. in Linwu County on January 1, marking an important step towards Linwu County’s goal to be the “capital of the battery industry”.
The solid-state battery for drones is the result of significant breakthroughs made by the R&D team of the company in core technology areas such as material R&D and battery structure design. This breakthrough has enabled the enterprise to master the core technology of solid-state batteries and achieved the large-scale production.
“Compared to traditional batteries, solid-state batteries for drones see an increase of 80% in energy density. Traditional drone batteries are basically 180 watt hours per kilogram while our batteries reach 320 watt hours per kilogram,” said Tang Xinping, chairman and general manager of the company.
Solid-state batteries for drones have achieved a qualitative leap in energy density, providing stronger power support for drones and improving their endurance. Moreover, solid-state batteries have very high safety, with stability and impact resistance far exceeding that of traditional liquid batteries.
As a high-tech enterprise specializing in the manufacturing and sales of high-entropy all-solid-state lithium batteries, the company has achieved the transformation of scientific and technological achievements after more than ten years of dedicated research. At present, the company has a fully-automated production line for solid-state batteries with a capacity of 1.5 GWh, with over 96% of product qualification rate.
Tang Xinping said that solid-state batteries, with excellent technical indicators, have broad market prospects. They are confident in promoting this solid-state battery for drones globally and expanding its market space. In addition, the company plans to achieve mass production of solid-state batteries for two wheeled vehicles and energy storage in February and June respectively. It is also expected that solid-state batteries for adult vehicles will achieve mass production before the end of the year, which will lay a solid foundation for the output value of Chenzhou’s lithium-ion new energy to exceed 100 billion yuan.
